HU HEADED TO CLEVELAND
The Cleveland Indians acquired pitcher Chih-Wei Hu from the Tampa Bay Rays for infielder Gionti Turner.
What does it give the Cleveland Guardians
In Hu, the Indians land a decent right-hander who can both start and relieve at all levels. The 25-year-old from Taiwan should compete for a roster spot with Cleveland next spring.
What does it give the Tampa Bay Rays
By trading Hu for an 18-year-old infielder in Turner, the Rays were able to clear a spot on their 40-man roster (which is always important for a prospect-driven team like Tampa Bay).
Fantasy impact
Hu has fantasy dark-horse appeal but his role may be undefined well into 2019. So, he should not be drafted in most league formats. Turner is several years away from MLB but has some upside. He is off the fantasy radar until he showcases himself as a prospect a little more.
