The Marlins have several players who have contracted the COVID-19 virus, so adding able bodies is important right about now. Bleier may be used a lot in the coming weeks if he is healthy and can avoid contracting the virus himself.
What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
Bleier struggled with Baltimore last season but he pitched well for the MLB squad in both 2017 and 2018. That said, he is a 33-year-old left-hander on a team in clear rebuilding mode. So, the Orioles did well to move him for a future asset.
