The Arizona Diamondbacks acquired outfielder Kyle Lewis from the Seattle Mariners for catcher/outfielder Cooper Hummel.
What does it give the Arizona Diamondbacks
Lewis was blocked in Seattle by superstar Julio Rodriguez, so he will now try his luck with the D'backs, who are fairly deep in quality young outfielders themselves.
What does it give the Seattle Mariners
Hummel is versatile (catcher, outfielder, designated hitter, et al), so he stands a good chance of making the Mariners out of spring training next year. This trade makes sense for both teams.
Fantasy impact
Both Lewis and Hummel seem to be headed toward better situations with their new organizations. Keep an eye on both players in spring training. Neither needs to be drafted at this time, though.
