WILLINGHAM OFF TO OAKLAND

The Oakland Athletics acquired outfielder Josh Willingham from the Washington Nationals for pitcher Henry Rodriguez and outfielder Corey Brown.

What does it give the Oakland Athletics
The A's now appear to be set in their 2011 outfield, with Willingham taking over in left field, Coco Crisp in center and David DeJesus set to play right field. Willingham will provide a right-handed power bat for the middle of the lineup. His defense is a bit shaky, but he has been brought to Oakland for his home-run and RBI prowess.

What does it give the Washington Nationals
Rodriguez is a decent prospect who has a pretty good chance of winning a job coming out of the Nationals bullpen in 2011. Brown could be the real gem in this trade, since he boasts a pretty intriguing power/speed package. However, he's no lock to make the Nats out of spring training, since he only has 135 at-bats at AAA under his belt.
