HILL OFF TO ORIOLES

The Baltimore Orioles acquired pitcher Rich Hill from the Chicago Cubs for cash.

What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
There should be room in the Baltimore rotation for the big lefty this season, since the O's are in the process of rebuilding their pitching staff. Hill turns 29 during spring training, so time is running out for him to put it all together. He may struggle in the hitter-friendly confines of Camden Yards but will get a long look.

What does it give the Chicago Cubs
The Cubs decided to take a future asset in exchange for Hill mainly to give him a better opportunity to pitch in the big leagues this season. He was on the outs with the organization, who will now turn to either fellow lefty Sean Marshall or newcomer Aaron Heilman as their fifth starter this season.
