TWINS LAND RELIEVER JEPSEN FROM TAMPA

The Minnesota Twins acquired pitcher Kevin Jepsen from the Tampa Bay Rays for pitchers Chih-Wei Hu and Alexis Tapia.

What does it give the Minnesota Twins
The Twins have struggled to find a bridge pitcher to get to closer Glen Perkins this season, so Jepsen will probably be asked to pitch effectively in the eighth inning for the rest of 2015. They gave up two promising pitchers but are clearly in win-now mode this season.

What does it give the Tampa Bay Rays
This is a tremendous deal for the Rays, since both Hu and Tapia have big potential and are extremely young. The Rays are fading in the American League East division race, and are always looking to dump contracts whenever they can. In this case, they made a great trade.

Fantasy impact
Jepsen's fantasy value should improve significantly in Minnesota, where he'll probably have a much steadier role out of the bullpen. Meanwhile, both Hu and Tapia have long-range fantasy upside for keeper leagues and should now be on the fantasy radar.
