ROYCE O'NEALE AND DAVID RODDY TO PHOENIX

In a three-team trade, the Phoenix Suns acquired forward Royce O'Neale from the Brooklyn Nets, and forward/guard David Roddy from the Memphis Grizzlies; Brooklyn acquired guard/forward Keita Bates-Diop, guard Jordan Goodwin and three future second-round draft picks from the Suns, and guard Vanja Marinkovic from the Grizzlies; and Memphis acquired forward/center Yuta Watanabe, center/forward Chimezie Metu and a first-round draft pick in 2026 from the Suns.

What does it give the Phoenix Suns
Phoenix did very well to add frontcourt depth off the bench with both O'Neale and Roddy joining fold. It cost them a future first, three future seconds and several depth pieces to get this three-way trade done, but this deal could pay dividends down the stretch and in the playoffs this spring. A good move by the Suns.

What does it give the Brooklyn Nets
The Nets moved veteran O'Neale and got back three future second-round picks and a serviceable, versatile player in Bates-Diop. As for Goodwin, he is expected to be waived after the completion of this trade. The Nets did fairly well with this trade.

What does it give the Memphis Grizzlies
For the Grizzlies, Watanabe is a decent bench option who can play the big positions (despite being somewhat undersized). Metu is expected to be waived by the Grizz, so the big piece in this trade for Memphis is the future first-round pick from Phoenix.

Fantasy impact
O'Neale and Roddy will (most likely) continue to come off the bench in Phoenix, so they are not really optimal fantasy options at this time. Watanabe and Bates-Diop can continue to be ignored in most fantasy circles, while Metu and Goodwin have no fantasy value without knowledge of where they will play next. Marinkovic is a quality international player but will he ever come over to North America?
