RICHARDSON TO MINNY
The Los Angeles Clippers acquired guard Sebastian Telfair, forward Craig Smith and forward Mark Madsen from the Minnesota Timberwolves for guard/forward Quentin Richardson.
What does it give the Los Angeles Clippers
Telfair will back up veteran Baron Davis with the Clips, while Smith could wind up as backup to Blake Griffin in 2009-10. Madsen will provide some big-man depth now that Zach Randolph has been moved to Memphis.
What does it give the Minnesota Timberwolves
Richardson figures to be in the shooting guard/small forward rotation with Ryan Gomes, Corey Brewer and others. More importantly, this move clears up some roster space for Minnesota.
