The Colorado Avalanche acquired defenseman Kurtis MacDermid from the Seattle Kraken for a fourth-round draft pick in 2023.

Big MacDermid is a physical defenseman who is best utilized as a depth player at the NHL level. He will likely serve as Colorado's No. 7 blueliner in 2021-22.

What does it give the Seattle Kraken
Seattle selected MacDermid from LA in the expansion draft, and will now get back a fourth-rounder in '23. There are several other NHL D-men on the roster.
