BERGERON TO MINNESOTA
The Minnesota Wild acquired defenseman Marc-Andre Bergeron from the Anaheim Ducks for a third-round draft pick in 2008.
What does it give the Minnesota Wild
Bergeron should fit in well with Minnesota's style of play. He should also help out on the team's power play. If anyone can help turn Bergeron's questionable defensive game around, it's Wild head coach Jacques Lemaire and his staff.
What does it give the Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks got very good value for their No. 7 defenseman. Bergeron was only acquired as an insurance policy at this past year's trade deadline, and didn't have much of a future in Anaheim. With Chris Pronger, Mathieu Schneider and Ryan Getzlaf guaranteed to see time on the point of the Ducks power play, there was no need for Bergeron.
