What does it give the Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers have to get by Pittsburgh in order to win the Stanley Cup, or at least reach the finals. Therefore, adding Pronger gets them closer to their goal. He will instantly make Philadelphia better, but he may be a one-year rental because he's without a contract beyond 2009-10. It's a good gamble for the Flyers, who are now better Cup contenders now.
What does it give the Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks are retooling, to some extent. Reacquiring Lupul in a deal involving Pronger is the ultimate irony, but he will help them offensively. Sbisa should get a shot at playing on Anaheim's defense sooner, rather than later, and the picks are important for what is looking like a rebuilding situation.
