Has a goal-scorer's mentality, creative instincts, solid offensive acumen, good hands and a great shot. Is big enough to handle himself against bigger NHL defensemen and does an effective job in the slot. Can play either wing position too, which adds value. Has had to endure serious injuries throughout his career. Tends to disappear for stretches, especially from the score sheet. Isn't a great skater, which limits his overall effectiveness. His battle level is not always on high, which leads to his scoring slumps.
