Jose Alvarez struggled in a spot start against the Marlins on Friday, surrendering three runs on two hits in just 2 2/3 innings.
Scouting Report
Deceives hitters because of a great changeup that he uses as his main out-pitch. As a result, he records plenty of strikeouts. Displays a lot of moxie when on the bump. Does not have ideal size for a big-league pitcher, so stamina can be an issue. Also, he gets into trouble when his pitches elevate (because he is not overpowering).
Long Range Potential: Decent left-hander.
