Fairbanks' early exit from his appearance Saturday against the Guardians was due to a numb right index finger, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Fairbanks exited Saturday's wild-card game against the Guardians with an apparent hand injury, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.
Very tall and lanky, he can deceive batters with his delivery and his limbs. A former starter, he has found his niche pitching out of the bullpen. When he is on, he can dominate in the minor leagues (so he is a good closer candidate at lower levels). Not surprisingly (due to his 6-6 frame), he at times has trouble repeating his delivery.
Long Range Potential: Lanky right-hander with a little upside.
