Vasquez signed a minor-league contract with the Tigers on Thursday that includes an invitation to spring training, Evan Petzold of Detroit Free Press reports.
Scouting Report
Has an outstanding frame (6-6, 228 pounds) for a big-league pitcher. Can strike plenty of batters out regularly. Is a candidate to pitch the ninth inning in the minor leagues. Can have trouble repeating his delivery, so walks can also be an issue for him (even at lower levels). Injuries and a lack of stamina can be issues for him. Is still a bit raw.
Long Range Potential: Towering left-hander with upside.
