The Red Sox transferred Whitlock (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL.

Whitlock (elbow) underwent an internal bracing procedure Thursday and will not pitch again in 2024, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.
Scouting Report
The towering right-hander uses all of his 6’5” frame in his delivery of the ball. Two-seam fastball sinker and a breaking ball slider are the go-to pitches for Whitlock. Neither pitch is overpowering but both have just enough odd movement in the delivery to deceive hitters. Need to keep developing the changeup and adding muscle to really show an impact as a starter.
