McSorley is slated to serve as the Cardinals' backup quarterback Sunday at Atlanta after head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Wednesday that Colt McCoy cleared the concussion protocol and is on track to start this weekend, Jess Root of USA Today reports.
McSorley will start Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
Relies on his legs almost as much as his arm to create offense; coaches can game-plan around his mobility and rushing skills, including run-pass option plays and goal-line keepers. Dominated the Big 10 as a three-year starter in college. Is able to command the huddle; he projects confidence and owns big-game experience. Is a steady, agile pocket passer with vision and accuracy. Well undersized for the NFL, his arm strength to beat tighter pro coverage is somewhat iffy. Also, his technique and decision-making can break down under pressure.
Long Range Potential: Athletic, depth quarterback.
