Was at his best when he went one on one against top forwards, since he could shut the best down with intimidation and poise. Had an accurate point shot, great size, sound hockey sense, mobility (for a big man) and an exemplary work ethic. Didn't put up significant offensive numbers throughout his career. Was a little bit too hesitant with the puck on his stick, since he was not a natural stickhandler. Could be guilty of being a little too aggressive at times, resulting in a few bad penalties.

Long Range Potential: Quality, physical shutdown defenseman.
