Greiss will guard the home goal during Saturday's matchup with Pittsburgh, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Greiss made 38 saves in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Lightning.
A classic late bloomer, he has turned into an ideal No. 1B or backup goaltender in his 30s: his ideal workload is about 35-40 games. The native of Germany never appears ruffled in the crease. Takes up a lot of net and holds his post well on jam shots. Is above average on breakaways and owns one of the NHL's highest career save percentages in shootouts. Is also a terrific teammate and an ideal partner for a younger netminder.
Long Range Potential: Solid tandem goaltender.
