Backstrom underwent resurfacing surgery on his left hip Friday. There is currently no timetable for his return.

Backstrom delivered two assists in Saturday's 6-1 win over the Panthers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference First Round.
Scouting Report
Is still one of the NHL's best passers as he enters his mid-30s. Has outstanding patience and hockey sense, and is among the best in NHL history at putting teammates in prime position to score. He also owns an underrated shot that he needs to use more often. Continues to be defensively responsible as well as a weapon in shootouts.
