Marner had a goal and two assists in a 5-4 overtime loss to Detroit on Saturday.
Marner (ankle) was activated off long-term injured reserve Saturday, per the NHL media site, setting him up to return for the evening's game versus Montreal.
Was an elite scorer in junior hockey and remains one as he heads into the prime of his NHL career. He is a terrific passer and is at his best when teamed with linemates who like to shoot the puck, but has a good enough shot to keep opponents honest. Plays on both special teams and is capable of playing 20-plus minutes on a nightly basis, despite a slender frame.
