Byron (hip) has yet to begin skating and is expected to be placed on long-term injured reserve to start the season, Marc Antoine Godin of The Athletic reports Wednesday.
Scouting Report
Has a great combination of quickness and straightaway speed, combined with a dose of skill. Is always a breakaway threat because of that speed, which also makes him a dangerous penalty killer. A lack of size (5’9”) is a drawback, and staying on the ice and off the injured list is a problem, but he has shown a knack for scoring 20-plus goals when healthy for a full season.
Long Range Potential: Speedy two-way forward (when healthy).
