Neris should be one of the top options for saves after manager Craig Counsell indicated Sunday that Adbert Alzolay isn't currently considered the closer, Steve Greenberg of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Through four appearances (3.2 innings), Neris has a 7.36 ERA and 1.91 WHIP to go along with five strikeouts.
When he throws strikes with consistency, he can be a very effective reliever (especially in the minor leagues). Has strikeout ability, which helps his cause. Doesn't have enough meat on his bones, so he could stand to add more bulk for greater stamina. When he starts walking batters, he loses his effectiveness.
Long Range Potential: Decent reliever.
