Binnington will guard the road goal Wednesday against Dallas, according to Lou Korac of NHL.com.
Binnington stopped 37 of 40 shots in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Hurricanes, with Carolina's final two goals coming into an empty net.
A late-blooming goalkeeper, he continues to try to prove that winning the Stanley Cup as a 25-year-old rookie was not a fluke. He can play top-level hockey in big situations, has excellent reflexes and moves well. Does not let opponents get comfortable around the crease, though he occasionally crosses the line. A lack of game-to-game consistency is at the root of his issues.
Long Range Potential: Quality, clutch yet inconsistent goaltender.
