The Cubs reassigned Brewer to minor-league camp Thursday, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.
The mammoth right-hander boasts an ideal pitchers' frame (6-4, 230 pounds) and solid fastball. Has experience closing games at the minor-league level and can strike a lot of batters out. Must continue to work on his secondary pitches in order to thrive in Major League Baseball. Can get into trouble when he starts walking too many hitters (even in the minor leagues).
Long Range Potential: Big, solid reliever with some upside.
