Has a real feel for pitching and is very good at setting batters up, thanks largely to his deep, four-pitch arsenal and pretty good overall command. Is a cerebral pitcher with a game plan every time he takes the bump. Because he lacks dominant stuff, he can be a bit too hittable on occasion (even in the minor leagues). Lacks ideal size for a big-league starter. May have trouble overachieving at the highest level, which is what it may take.
