Winson is positioned to operate as the No. 2 quarterback behind Jaxson Dart, who cleared the concussion protocol Thursday, versus the Patriots on Monday Night Football.
Winston completed 18 of 36 passes for 366 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 34-27 overtime loss to the Lions. He added four rushing attempts for 13 yards and had a 33-yard touchdown reception.
Brings superb all-round tools for a pro quarterback, complete with great size, excellent vision, tremendous accuracy, and a wealth of confidence in his ability. Displays good mobility, and can be an asset when throwing outside the pocket (or when running with the football), although he's at his best inside the pocket. Must improve his efficiency and cut down on the interceptions and sacks. He's been in off-field trouble numerous times, so he needs to gain greater maturity and become as good at the decision-making process off the field as he is on it.
