Had strong legs, which helped him move well laterally. Owned a wealth of experience. Was effective as either a temporary starter or regular backup, and was a solid team player. Lacked consistency, which was why he took so long to establish himself in the National Hockey League. Struggled sometimes with his lateral movement in the crease area.
