Petersen surrendered five goals on 20 shots in Saturday's 5-4 home loss to the Hurricanes.
Is an accomplished puck-stopping option at several different levels. As a right-handed catcher, he can deceive shooters and force them to alter their shots. Is a hard worker who strives to improve his overall game. A late-blooming netminder, he can be a little shaky from time to time in terms of letting in soft goals (and losing his angles). Could stand to add more bulk and get physically stronger to maximize his NHL appearances.
Long Range Potential: Backup goaltender with a little upside.
