The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired winger Emil Bemstrom from the Columbus Blue Jackets for winger Alex Nylander and a conditional sixth-round draft pick in 2026. |
Bemstrom (concussion) signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Penguins on Monday.
Bemstrom suffered a concussion which sidelined him for the season finale against the Islanders on Wednesday, Seth Rorabaugh of Tribune-Review Sports reports.
Has plenty of scoring acumen, thanks to good offensive instincts and awareness (plus a quick release as a shooter). Slick with the puck on his stick, he also has the potential to be a fairly responsible winger with the ability to play a solid two-way game. Lacks ideal size for the National Hockey League, so he could stand to gain strength. Must also play with greater urgency and consistency.
Long Range Potential: Offensive winger with some upside.
