The Padres transferred Patino (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday.
Patino has reported to Padres' camp after being delayed by visa issues, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Exceptionally athletic for a person his size, he has no problem unleashing high velocity pitches that freeze batters in the box. A four pitch offering that includes a fastball touching 99 m.p.h., a hard lateral moving slider, a deceptive changeup, and an absolutely filthy curveball is what he’ll use to frustrate major league batters. While control on the high velocity pitches can still be a problem he has shown the ability to strike out batters both inside and above the strike zone.
Long Range Potential: Excellent right-hander with some upside.
