Fried (1-0) picked up the win in Friday's 8-1 rout of the Marlins, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over 6.1 innings while striking out four.
Fried recorded only two outs Saturday against the Phillies before being lifted, giving up three runs on two hits and three walks while striking out one. He came away with a no-decision.
Owns a very projectable frame, plus a great fastball-curve combination that can be devastating for batters to deal with. Owns dominant qualities on the mound and can generate impressive strikeout totals. Injuries have already been a major issue with him, so he needs to stay healthy and fill out his lanky frame in order to maximize output in MLB. Also, his changeup needs a bit of work as a third go-to delivery.
Long Range Potential: Talented, fragile left-hander with good upside, when healthy.
