Winker will start at designated hitter and bat fifth Friday in Game 5 of the NLCS against the Dodgers, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Scouting Report
An excellent hitter for average, he has tremendous hands and a very good approach to hitting. Can spread the ball around to all fields, which helps create quality batting averages with a lot of consistency. Lacks power, which may hamper his everyday player aspirations. Does not have the tremendous arm usually associated with right-fielders, nor does he have the ideal speed for center field.
Long Range Potential: Solid outfielder.
