Twins president of baseball operations Derek Falvey revealed Saturday that DeSclafani will be out for the season after undergoing flexor tendon surgery on his right elbow, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
The Twins placed DeSclafani (elbow) on the 60-day injured list Thursday.
Is an intense competitor on the bump. Throws a quality fastball and good, hard slider. Generally throws strikes. Has a projectable 6-1 frame. Pounds the bottom of the zone. His changeup is only average, at best, while his curve ball is unrefined and needs more work. Should also add more bulk to his frame so as to maximize stamina on the hill.
Long Range Potential: Solid right-hander with some upside.
