Montas allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out six over five innings in Saturday's spring start against the Rockies.
Owns an excellent fastball , as well as the ability to pitch both as a starter or reliever. Can close in on triple digits with his heater, which helps him strike a lot of batters out at lower levels. Needs to improve his command in order to maximize big-league production. Must also improve his secondary pitches, and may not have the reportoire to be a starter at the highest level.
Long Range Potential: Inconsistent, talented right-hander with some upside.
