Hermosillo signed a minor-league contract with the Yankees on Friday that includes an invitation to major-league spring training.
An impressive athlete who starred as a football player in high school, he displays excellent speed in the outfield (as well as a solid throwing arm). Owns untapped power potential and good patience at the dish. There is concern that he will never hit for enough home-run power for Major League Baseball, so he will need to continue to hit for average in order to maximize output at the highest level. Is still a raw defender.
