Beeks picked up the save in Sunday's 11-9 extra-inning win at Philadelphia, allowing one unearned run on two hits and no walks over an inning with no strikeouts.
Beeks underwent x-rays on his forearm which came back negative, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Has a good fastball/slider combination that can generate plenty of strikeouts in the minor leagues. Displays good command of his arsenal. Can be used as either a starter or reliever. Stamina and endurance are issues for him, as he tends to lose some velocity off his fastball later on in the game. Part of the problem is a lack of optimum height (5'11") for a pitcher.
Long Range Potential: Versatile left-hander.
