In a four-team trade, the New York Knicks acquired forward/guard Josh Hart from the Portland Trail Blazers; the Philadelphia 76ers acquired forward Jalen McDaniels and a second-round draft pick in 2024 from the Charlotte Hornets, and a second-round draft pick in 2029 from the Trail Blazers; Portland acquired forward/guard Matisse Thybulle from the 76ers, and forward/guard Cam Reddish, guard Ryan Arcidiacono and a first-round draft pick in 2023 from the Knicks; and Charlotte acquired forward/guard Svi Mykhailiuk and a second-round draft pick in 2027 from the Trail Blazers, and a second-round draft pick in 2023 from the 76ers. |
McDaniels finished Monday's 116-111 loss to the Nuggets with 14 points (6-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal in 22 minutes off the bench.
McDaniels (hip) is questionable for Saturday's matchup against the Suns.
Can play both forward positions because he has the height to defend against bigger forwards and the quickness to line up against smaller ones. His length helps him in the steals department, as well as when rebounding the basketball. Drives the ball with conviction to the basket and is adept at getting to the charity stripe (where he is fairly solid). Needs to bulk up and get physically stronger in order to play the four position in the NBA on a regular basis. Is a true energy forward who might be ideal coming off the bench at the highest level.
Long Range Potential: Talented, versatile combo forward with upside.
