The Lions signed Smith to a reserve/future contract Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
He's capable of logging a regular number of catches. A very productive receiver who can help carry an offense. Proven as a big-play deep threat who can go all the way. He has a real nose for the end zone and is a major worry for d-backs. Has good height for the pro game. Long arms give him an advantage in most receiving situations. Has good enough speed to play regularly as a pro. explosive as a leaper, helping him win jump balls. Needs to add more muscle to his frame to deal with the pro physicality and size of pro secondaries. Also lacks ideal foot quickness in short spaces.
Long Range Potential: Potential star wide receiver.
