The Cowboys placed Prescott (hamstring) on injured reserve Monday.
Prescott underwent surgery Wednesday to address the partial avulsion of his right hamstring, David Moore of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Brings a nice combination of athleticism and accuracy to the pocket. Plays bigger than his size thanks to an overhand delivery. Decides quickly, and gets rid of the ball in a hurry (helping him avoid both sacks and pickoffs, since he doesn't telegraph many passes). Can also regularly make plays with his feet. Not yet proven as a high-volume passer, and must show he can excel when the running game isn't working. Still somewhat untested as a deep-ball passer, and sometimes checks down too quickly when he could be going through more progressions.
Long Range Potential: Athletic, efficient starting quarterback with stellar upside.
