Smilanic, along with a 2023 first-round pick and a 2022 fourth-round pick, were traded from the Panthers to the Canadiens on Wednesday in exchange for Ben Chiarot.
Scouting Report
Is a great skater with a projectable frame and an outstanding work rate. Displays plenty of skill and loads of versatility in his game. Is more of a playmaker than a finisher, and there are questions about his hands and ability to score goals at the highest level. Will need to fill out his good frame and get physically stronger for the professional ranks. Can play either center or wing.
Long Range Potential: Speedy, versatile forward with upside.
