A product of the CSKA Moscow program in Russia, he spent his final two pre-draft eligible seasons with the USHL's Muskegon Lumberjacks (he led the team in scoring in his second season there). An extremely dynamic offensive winger, he simply oozes flair and sniping ability. He is also very creative with the puck and can set up teammates with aplomb. Is rather undersized for the pro ranks so he needs to add significant bulk and get physically stronger for the North American pro game. Also needs to improve his work ethic and game-to-game consistency so as to thrive as a scoring winger in the NHL.
