Had excellent two-way ability and sound leadership qualities. Also possessed a wicked shot, grit and face-off skills. Could play on both special teams and also play on the wing if needed there. Did not always play with consistency, which prevented him from taking his game to another level. Had a tendency to rush things in the offensive zone; he lacked patience with the puck.
