Lankinen will make his fourth start of the season against the Blackhawks on Tuesday, according to Tracey Myers of NHL.com.
Lankinen was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports, indicating he will guard the road goal Saturday against Philadelphia.
The late-blooming Finnish goaltender was never drafted and battled his way through the ECHL and American Hockey League before getting a chance in the big league in his mid-20s. He has the size NHL teams like and has adapted well to the smaller rinks in North America, but still needs to show the consistency required of an NHL starter.
Long Range Potential: Backup goaltender with a little upside.
