Nationals manager Dave Martinez said Wednesday that Gallo will play right field while Lane Thomas (knee) is sidelined, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Gallo is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Astros.
Has tremendous size and awesome left-handed power at all competitive levels. Will also draw a fair amount of walks. Can play either infield or outfield corner, which adds value to MLB clubs. Strikes out a ton, so he must cut down a bit on his propensity to whiff in order to maximize his vast talent. Struggled with his defense at the hot corner, but his game really took off after a switch to the outfield. Is a tremendous athlete for his size.
Long Range Potential: Mammoth, versatile left-handed power hitter.
