McCarron inked a two-year, $1.8 million contract extension with Nashville on Friday.
Scouting Report
A huge (6'6") forward who can play either center or wing, he has yet to show the skill that made him a first-round pick in the 2013 NHL Draft. He can overpower opponents when he is on his game, but that does not happen often enough; consistency continues to be a major issue. His size is still attractive, but he has yet to show NHL-level offensive ability. He can kill penalties, though.
Long Range Potential: Mammoth bottom-six forward.
