The Mariners recalled Haggerty (Achilles) from Triple-A Tacoma and placed him on the 60-day injured list Monday.
Haggerty was diagnosed with a torn Achilles on Monday and will miss the rest of the 2024 season, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports. He was placed on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday.
A switch-hitting middle infielder, he can hit for average, draw walks and steal bases in the minor leagues. Does not own much home-run power at all, which hurts his chances of maximizing his appearances in Major League Baseball. Also, he has a tendency to strike out at a high rate for his lack of power. Needs to find his big-league niche.
Long Range Potential: Backup infielder with a little upside.
