Garlick signed a minor-league contract with the Diamondbacks on Friday and received an invitation to major-league spring training, Jesse Friedman of GoPHNX.com reports.
Scouting Report
Can both hit for a solid average and post good home-run numbers in the minor leagues, especially against left-handed pitching. At the big-league level, he can come off the bench to deliver a hit. His walk/strikeout ratio is not great, as he tends to be a little bit too overly-aggressive at the dish.
Long Range Potential: Depth outfielder and bat off the bench.
