Slayton did not catch his only target in a 20-13 Week 18 loss to Philadelphia on Sunday. He finished the regular season with 39 receptions on 70 targets for 573 yards and two touchdowns along with two rushes for 17 yards.
Slayton caught one of two targets for 21 yards and rushed once for six yards in Sunday's 34-7 Week 16 loss to the Falcons.
An eye-popping college average of 20 yards per catch gives it away: defenses must beware of his quick-strike ability in the vertical attack. The former state sprint champion has the motor to separate from coverage, the ideal height and frame to win matchups with smaller corners, plus excellent body control and extension to make in-flight adjustments and seize jump balls. Was not heavily targeted in a run-first college offense. Can use refinement in his route running and must also improve his ball security in order to maximize output in the NFL.
Long Range Potential: Quality wide receiver with upside.
