Mills will return to a backup role Sunday in Indianapolis after C.J. Stroud cleared the concussion protocol Friday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Mills could return to backup quarterback duties if C.J. Stroud (concussion) continues to progress ahead of Sunday's game against the Colts.
The third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft has good size and plenty of arm strength, which helps to compensate for below-average mobility. He can make virtually any throw, including threading the ball between two defenders and deep outs. Came into the NFL very raw (11 college starts), which can show when he is late to come off his primary read. He needs a strong offensive line to be successful because he lacks elusiveness.
Long Range Potential: Developmental quarterback with some upside.
